Adam C. Walker began serving as Summit Packaging Solutions Chief Executive Officer in January 2014. Walker has implemented a growth strategy focused on technology, innovation, new market expansion and Mergers and Acquisitions to accelerate the growth of Summit. He has focused relentlessly on revenue growth, customer satisfaction and shareholder value creation. Throughout his career, Walker has served as a high-impact strategist with experience spanning global manufacturing operations, business development, marketing, strategic business unit leadership and turn-around assignment. Walker is an accomplished business executive with over twenty years of packaging expertise serving technology, automotive, beverage, and other industries. Prior to acquiring Summit Packaging Solutions, Walker co-founded and led Homestead Packaging Solutions, an innovative and award winning packaging manufacturer with facilities in Tennessee and Michigan. Under his leadership, the company received numerous awards including the NMSDC Supplier of the Year and the United States Department of Commerce – MBDA Manufacturer of the year. Walker launched his career as a running back in the National Football League (NFL) where he played for seven consecutive seasons beginning and ending with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1990 and 1996 respectively. Walker also played for the San Francisco 49ers from 1991 to 1995 and was a member of the 1994 49ers Super Bowl XXIX championship team. Recognized for his leadership on and off the field, Walker served as special teams captain from 1994-1996 for both the 49ers and the Eagles; received 1994’s post-season special teams MVP; nominated for the Ed Block Award for Courage in 1995; received the 1996 special teams Player of the Year award; and the NFL’s Player Network Events (PNE) Executive of the Year. Currently, Walker serves on the Board of Directors of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Gwinnett Technical College, the Georgia Small Business Center, and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh and completed the Advanced Management Executive Program from Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management.
Jack McCurdy was named Summit Packaging Solutions Chief Financial Officer in September 2014. McCurdy has responsibility for all activities related to accounting, finance, financial planning, taxes and treasury. McCurdy began his professional career working with the international public accounting firm, KPMG, in Tampa and New York City offices. As a senior manager in the audit group, McCurdy served clients in the sectors of manufacturing, local government and financial institutions during his ten years with KPMG. McCurdy has previously served as Chief Financial Officer for Risk Transfer Holdings and the Florida Spine Institute. A native of Florida, McCurdy received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. McCurdy is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Florida.
Joseph Jaruszewski was named Executive Vice President of Packaging Solutions for Summit Packaging Solutions in February 2014. In this capacity, he leads Summit’s operations. Previous to Summit, Jaruszewski was the President and Founder of Market Resource Packaging, LLC, a national supply chain solutions company focusing on primary and secondary contract packaging. Jaruszewski served on the Board of the Contract Packaging Association for 6 years and held the position of President for his final two years. He was a member of the NJ Packaging Executive Club, Material Handling Society, IOPP, Cosmetic Industry Buyers and Suppliers Association, the Foundation for Strategic Sourcing (F4SS) Association and the Direct Marketing Association. Jaruszewski received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Dave Johnson is Vice President of Operations for Summit Packaging Solutions, a position he has held since April 2001. Johnson first joined Summit Container Corporation in 1986 and holds the distinction of being the longest tenured employee at Summit Container Corporation. Throughout his career at Summit Container, Johnson has held various positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing, logistics, procurement, customer service, and product costing. Johnson has also worked for other organizations such as ATT (formerly Cellular One). A native of Iowa, Johnson hold an Associate degree in electronics and accounting.
Stephen Turner joined Summit Packaging Solutions in August of 2014 as Vice President of Sales overseeing the global sales, solutions, and customer engagement strategy for the company. Under Turner’s direction, the sales and solutions professionals at Summit Packaging Solutions are focused on deepening customer relationships by providing high impact, value-rich solutions, enabling customers to better compete in the global marketplace. Turner has over twenty five years of experience in strategic and sales management. Prior to this current position and throughout his career, Stephen has served in a variety of leadership roles including Major and National Account Manager at Siemens and Carter Brothers. He has also held the General Manager position at SCWS, Mark VII Equipment Incorporated, and Exxon Mobil Oil Corporation. An adopted native of California, Turner earned a bachelor’s degree of arts in business administration from California State University-Fullerton, California, and a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in strategic management from Claremont University-Peter F. Drucker Graduate Center in Claremont, California.
